Hey - thanks for stopping by on the blog.

Last time I checked - this was an SEO and Social Media blog, rather than a spelling or grammar blog.

As much as I try to be grammatically correct and make sure I spell things correctly, inevitably there will be instances that slip through the net.

But like I say, this blog is designed to be a great resource for SEO and Social Media people to learn more, rather than for them to read 100% grammatical correctness.

As long as the information I provide is factually correct and of use, then I have done my job.

Hey Pablo,

That's strange. Although they have recently changed to look of the left hand section recently - it is still under the "more" option.

It is very dependant on the version of Google though. For instance, the .com version tends to have things before the .co.uk version and each country specific version tend to do their own thing with layout and changes.

"Sharebare" for the left hand side share buttons
"Cute Profiles" for the right hand side Social Media profile buttons.

Really? You have to be logged into Google to use the search engine? I didn't know that.

But I noticed that if you are logged in: the search results will be flawed because they put your connections' recommended sites like those in Google Buzz. Search engine results will definitely be affected.

It's good to hear that you're still on the first page as you were :) I still see valid arguments for long tail searches dying out, as well as long tail searches increasing! It's a hard one to call for now.

Penetration in the UK is certainly low at the moment, due to people having to be logged into Google or use Chrome in order to gain access.

I was bothered when I learned about Google Instant. I thought my ranking would be affected.

I am targeting a long tail keyword "making money online philippines". Good thing is that I am still on the first page of search result. No worries if you know the basics and essentials in SEO. Just stick with white hat, you're in good position.

Good to see you here again.

No problems at all. I wanted to put something out there to try and ease the fears of the "SEO is dead" bunch that have cropped up.

I think the suggestions for longer tail terms (even before Google Instant) are usually pretty good, as I'm more confident that it will bring back results.

People may well find it too suffocating though, so it will be interesting to see the take up/opt out rate.

Yes, I must say it could well be a turn off for people. It will be very interesting to see the impact thats for sure.

I think the amount of referring keywords may start to filter down to less as people may start to follow the suggestions.

Thanks for the well balanced and informative post.
Whilst it's too early to tell, it will definitely be interesting to see the impact on longtail keyword searches.
I also wondered, since most people come to google with a specific search term in mind whether the predictive results will be more of an annoyance than anything. Kind of like predictive text, personally I don't use it as I know exactly what I want to type!

I can see how Google Instant can definitely change search. However as a user, I just think that it is actually more of a headache when doing research. Instead of just showing things I want, it gives me all kind of stuff that I don't even need. I just ended up turning the feature off.
